“DAN & DANG. THE STORY”

Dan & Dang in 2012 through a mutual friend and after being together for almost 10 years he proposed to her in December 2020 on 43rd floor of the Shard in London.

Running his own fireworks company, Dan was looking for the venue that had grounds to hold an impressive fireworks display, a facility to host 150 guests and had the most romantic setting to host their wedding day.

They wanted to bring together as many friends and family as they could and make a party they would all remember.

That is why Sennowe Park with spectacular grounds and most romantic winter garden, as a ceremony hall, was the most perfect choice.

Sennowe Park is Norfolk’s hidden gem. It is probably the most impressive and romantic country house that was designed by infamous Thomas Albert Cook himself, who’s decendanats still occupy the estate.

Being still inhabited by the current owners and not open to the public, this magical venue offers its house and grounds to only special events, weddings, film productions.

The mile long formal drive, framed by the beautiful trees, leads you to the majestic main house perched on the hill with its broad stepping down garden terraces overlooking endless parks that border banks of the Lake with views of the Boathouse, designed by renowned Norfolk architect George Skipper.

Drawing Room, Oak panelled Main hall, Library, Shooting Dining Room, or the more intimate Yellow Dining Room, and the most beautiful, flower filled Winter Garden.

All these rooms still hold the stunning interiors, art, and traditions of great British opulence.

Dan & Dang wanted to bring a flavour of Dang’s Thai culture to the day.

Dang made a special trip to Thailand to have her main wedding dress made and her bridesmaid’s traditional Thai costumes. She wanted to have a traditional Thai wedding dress for the ceremony and an English style wedding dress for the rest of the celebrations.

Sarah Softley, from Softley Events, that exclusively runs all events at Sennowe park & Wolterton Hall and has extensive experience with international clients, she saw their vision and created amazing fusion of Thai and English culture for their wedding celebrations: with stone elephants framing the entrance to the marque, Thai guest favours, bunting with both flags in, and some Thai music playing on the background during the meal.

For the flowers, Dang wanted to have both countries national flags’ colours to be reflected, including some orchids and that is exactly what Hannah of Fern Flowers has created for them.

Dang’s father had sadly passed away. So Dang has asked Dan’s best friend, to walk her down the aisle. Dang looked absolutely stunning following behind the entourage of her bridesmaids, all in their traditional Thai dresses, to the Kavolini string quartet performing Pachelbel’s Canon in D.

Dan’s sister read a beautiful reading “ I’ll be there”, by Louise Cuddon.

The wedding reception after the ceremony was held on the upper lawn with the main house providing spectacular backdrop. Kavalini quartet continued to entertain guests with classical and modern pieces,

Afterwards, the guests were escorted to an impressive marquee positioned on the lower lawn where dinner, followed by speeches and champagne tower, was served.

Dang and Dan wanted to wanted to try to learn a proper dance routine for the first dance.

Using a combination of some Ceroc moves Dan learned many years ago, together with some youtube tutorials with lindy-hop choreographers, they set about creating their routine.

They chose “Lets face the music and dance” as it had a fun lyric, was not too long and was a tune everyone would know.

The evening saw DJ/MC Karl Duke from KSD EVENTS entertaining the guests, followed by Ed Dewson with his very talented daughter from “The Hat Band London”.

Dan and Dang wanted to make sure all their guests were well entertained including all the children. So, after fine food & wine we enjoyed, a magician and laser tag games were set for the kids on the main lawn of the house.

And of course the grand finale, The Firework display accompanied by dramatic music, designed by Dan himself.
